Rasmal Ventures, the first institutional-backed investment company in Qatar trusted by sovereign wealth funds including the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), today confirmed its investment in Yuno's $45 million Series B funding round. Yuno is the AI-powered operating system for payments and financial services globally, powering the financial infrastructure for major commercial enterprises, banks, and digital wallets.
The round was led by Global PayTech Ventures, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Tiger Global, QuantumLight Capital, Monashees, Kaszek, and Endeavor Catalyst. Rasmal joined as a strategic regional investor alongside GrowthX Capital, one of Rasmal's investors, and Further Ventures, a sovereign-backed investment firm based in Abu Dhabi.
For Rasmal, this investment represents a direct expression of the company's business model, which focuses on providing real value to businesses operating in the GCC before injecting capital, rather than merely writing checks. This positions Rasmal as a strategic regional partner for entrepreneurs, both locally and globally. Yuno achieved this before the round: it established Qatar as a regional headquarters and launchpad for the region, and Yuno Payments Arabia obtained a payment technology service provider license from the Saudi Central Bank in April 2026. It also partnered with Tap Payments to open local payment channels, including Mada, KNET, and NAPS, in the six GCC countries, and formed a buy now, pay later partnership with Tabby, connecting the platform to over 25 million shoppers in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
The timing here is significant. ACI Worldwide classifies the Middle East as the fastest-growing instant payments market in the world, a market whose growth today extends along the same trade corridors that connect the Gulf to Asia, through the wallets, channels, and shoppers that Yuno already serves.
"The hardest part of payments is being truly local in every market, which is what Yuno has succeeded in achieving on a global scale, and that’s precisely why its model resonates in our region," said Soumaya Ben Bia Dredji, a partner at Rasmal Ventures. "The Gulf today is one of the fastest-growing payments markets in the world, and its future extends along its new trade corridors, which are the wallets, channels, and shoppers themselves that Yuno connects. We invested because Juan Pablo and his team are building the infrastructure needed for these corridors, and because they combine global ambition with real financial discipline. This is a rare combination, and it’s exactly what we invest in."
Hamad Al-Hajri, founder of GrowthX Capital, added, "I have known founder Juan Pablo since his journey with Rappi, the first Colombian company to surpass a billion-dollar valuation. I believe he is building his next billion-dollar company with Yuno, but this time from the GCC countries, with Qatar as its regional headquarters."
Yuno enables businesses to connect, through a single API, to over 1,000 payment methods and more than 460 integrations in over 190 countries, with smart transaction routing, one-click payments, and AI-powered fraud detection. Over the past year, the company recovered more than $5 billion in transaction volume that would have failed for merchants on its network, increased transaction approval rates by about 5 percent, and saved its clients over $500 million in processing costs. Global brands managing their payments through Yuno include McDonald's, NetEase Games, GoFundMe, inDrive, Rappi, and others.
Juan Pablo Ortega, co-founder and CEO of Yuno, stated, "Most companies raise Series B funding to buy growth, while we are raising it to keep up with our customers' growth and expand the gap we are achieving, with a clear path to profitability over the next year. Being local everywhere is one of the hardest challenges in payments, and those who start working on it today are at least two years behind."
This investment is part of Rasmal's program to build a two-way access between Gulf markets and global innovation, across the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey, and Asia.
