Progresar Scholarships: How to Claim the Additional $35,000 and the Key Requirement from ANSES

Beneficiaries of Progresar Obligatorio must meet an additional requirement to access the additional or incentive payments provided by the ANSES program. The Ministry of Education has established that students must participate in Extension Training Activities, report their completion on the Progresar platform, and wait for validation from the educational institution to enable the corresponding payment.

These payments are made only to those who demonstrate compliance with the required activities of the program. For those awarded in the first call, two incentive payments are contemplated, while those who entered in the second call receive one.

The Extension Training Activities have been incorporated as one of the conditions of the Progresar Obligatorio program. The goal is to complement school training through courses, workshops, seminars, talks, or other educational proposals.

The Extension Training Activities are complementary educational proposals to traditional teaching that seek to broaden the experience of students beyond the classroom.

They can take on different formats. These include courses, workshops, seminars, conferences, talks, exhibitions, and other spaces related to education, vocational guidance, new technologies, digital citizenship, or financial education. They can also be developed in person or virtually.

These activities are organized by schools or by national, provincial, and municipal educational bodies. Each institution makes the available proposals accessible to students.

Participation is mandatory for those receiving the Progresar Obligatorio line, whether they were awarded in the first or second call. Compliance with this condition directly impacts access to the incentive payments.

Although scholarship payments are made through ANSES, the documentation submission is done via the official Progresar platform. After completing the corresponding activity, the student must log in with their user account and select the section designated for Extension Training Activities.

There, they must report the proposal completed and fill in the data requested by the system. Subsequently, the school will log into the same platform to validate the information submitted.

The institutional certification constitutes the only official instance to verify compliance with the requirement. Once confirmed, the system enables access to the payments.

The payment regime depends on the call in which each student was awarded. Those who entered in the first call access a scheme composed of twelve payments distributed throughout the academic year.

This schedule includes eight regular payments, two incentive payments linked to the Extension Training Activities, and two additional payments for academic performance for those who complete the cycle without failing subjects. The 20% withheld from regular payments is settled once the educational institution certifies compliance with the established conditions.

In the case of students awarded in the second call, the program contemplates six payments: four regular, one incentive payment for training activities, and one payment for academic performance. The current reference amount for the program payments remains at $35,000, according to the scheme reported by the Ministry of Education. The incentive payments are paid in full, without the 20% withholding applied to regular payments.

Students have until November 30 to report on the platform that they completed the corresponding activity. After that, educational institutions have until December 30 to validate the information submitted by each beneficiary.

Meeting these deadlines is essential to access the incentive payments provided by the program. On the other hand, maintaining the status of a regular student remains an indispensable requirement to retain the scholarship and receive the total established payments. In addition to completing the training activity, students must attend classes regularly and comply with the academic certifications conducted by institutions throughout the year. A negative record of regularity may lead to the suspension of benefits.
