Ministry of Energy Invests 844 Million UAH in Military Bonds
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has invested over 844 million UAH from the financial reserve of "Energoatom" into state military bonds. These funds, previously held in accounts, will now work for the state budget and maintain their value for future work on nuclear facilities. The financial reserve is formed through regular contributions from the State Enterprise "NAEK "Energoatom". Previously, the funds were accumulating in bank accounts and losing purchasing power due to inflation. Investing in government securities helps protect savings from depreciation and provides additional replenishment of the reserve through the income earned. As a result of two auctions on June 23 and July 28, 2026, the Ministry of Energy acquired 813,711 military bonds of the domestic government loan for a total amount of over 844 million UAH. The accumulated funds and profits will be directed towards financing the decommissioning of nuclear installations. In June, the Ministry of Energy made its first purchase of domestic government bonds using financial reserve funds in nearly two decades.
