Bitcoin Holds at 62 Points After Historic High of $124,824 in 2025
Bitcoin (BTC) is currently in a bear market, with an approximate decline of 38% from its historic high of $124,824 in October 2025. At 330-340 days since that peak, BTC hovers around the index of 62, indicating a less severe drop compared to previous cycles. A chart from Galaxy Research shows that, despite nearly 11 months having passed since the peak, BTC maintains a relative position superior to that observed in equivalent stages of other bear markets in 2017 and 2021. The difference in the current cycle lies not only in the magnitude of the decline but also in the resistance shown, with less pronounced rebounds and drops. This suggests a possible compression of bitcoin cycles, with less extreme movements. Factors such as increased institutional participation and the existence of bitcoin exchange-traded funds may be limiting the intensity of sales. However, the current resistance does not guarantee that bitcoin has hit bottom, as some previous cycles recorded rebounds before reaching definitive lows. Market conditions can change, and although the post-2025 peak cycle is less aggressive than its predecessors, it remains to be seen whether this resistance will be permanent or if a deeper correction will occur.
