On August 20, an informal meeting will be held at the White House with executives from the digital asset industry. The meeting is set to begin at 3:30 AM KST (2:30 PM EDT on August 19), and discussions are expected to focus on the key issues surrounding the U.S. digital asset comprehensive legislation known as the CLARITY Act. On the same day at 3:00 AM KST (2:00 PM EDT on August 19), the U.S. Federal Reserve will release the FOMC minutes. During the July FOMC meeting, three members opposed the decision to keep interest rates unchanged, advocating for a 0.25% rate hike. The main schedule for August 20 includes: FOMC minutes release (3:00 AM), White House digital asset executive meeting (3:30 AM), and the announcement of weekly initial jobless claims in the U.S. (9:30 PM). The number of initial jobless claims for the week of August 2-8 was 209,000, an increase of 9,000 from the previous week, while the number of claims for unemployment benefits lasting more than two weeks decreased by 22,000 to 1,777,000. Experts believe that the level of initial jobless claims around 200,000 is difficult to analyze as a recession in the labor market.
