U.S. Federal Claims Court Issues Procedural Order in Chainalysis v. U.S. Government Case
On July 31, the U.S. Federal Claims Court issued a procedural order in the case of Chainalysis v. U.S. Government, with TRM Labs participating as an intervenor. The court approved the plaintiff's motion to seal the complaint and protective order, and set a schedule for cross-motions: the plaintiff will submit a motion for judgment on the administrative record by August 26, the defendant and intervenor will respond and file cross-motions by August 31, with related replies due by September 1, and oral arguments scheduled for September 2. The government has requested the court to make a ruling by September 10. Chainalysis claims that the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement bypassed normal competitive procedures to directly award an exclusive procurement contract to one of its main competitors, TRM Labs, and has requested the court to halt the related arrangements.
