Trump Pushes Hyperliquid Compliance into the U.S., Possibly via Bitnomial

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that his administration is promoting the decentralized perpetual contract trading platform Hyperliquid to enter the U.S. market in a fully compliant manner. Trump mentioned that the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will be dedicated to introducing Hyperliquid. Payward, the parent company of Kraken, is collaborating with the CFTC to provide registered U.S. users with certain crypto perpetual contract products related to the Hyperliquid market and its underlying Layer 1 blockchain through the CFTC-regulated platform Bitnomial. Nansen research analyst Nicolai Sondergaard believes this arrangement may allow Hyperliquid to provide some underlying technology, liquidity, or market design without directly opening its existing platform to U.S. users, creating a separate U.S. product. He pointed out that U.S. users may face fewer market choices, lower leverage, and more conservative risk controls, while opposing comprehensive KYC measures, arguing that they would undermine the privacy and permissionless access of legitimate users and push liquidity offshore.
