TON Mini App Connected Non-Custodial Wallets Reach 100 Million
The number of non-custodial wallets connected to the TON (Telegram Open Network) mini app has reached 100 million. However, this figure differs from the number of monthly active users or the actual number of wallets that have been active. The TON App Journal announced this figure at 'Gateway 2024', referring to wallets connected to the TON mini app. There are 500 million users of the Telegram mini app, and the total monthly users of Telegram is 950 million, but not all of them are active on the TON blockchain. According to on-chain metrics, as of September 8, the number of monthly active wallets was 1.7 million, while on September 6, it was recorded at 2,228,099. The two counts differ due to different reference points and entities, but both are in a different category than the 100 million connected wallets. Telegram plans to use TON as the exclusive blockchain infrastructure for its mini app platform starting January 2025. Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, stated that the number of monthly active users has reached 950 million. The 500 million mini app users and the 100 million connected wallets have different counting criteria, so simply comparing these figures could misinterpret the actual activity scale of the TON ecosystem. It is important that future reports present monthly active wallets, transaction volumes, payment, and monetization metrics together.
