Kalshi's Commodity Monthly Trading Volume Exceeds $400 Million, Growth Rate Surpasses Early Crypto Futures Market
Kalshi has announced that its commodity prediction market's monthly trading volume has surpassed $400 million, four times the monthly trading volume of cryptocurrency (approximately $100 million) when the platform launched seven months ago. The growth in retail trading has driven Kalshi to introduce prediction markets for commodities such as oil, natural gas, and metals, demonstrating strong demand for these contracts. Kalshi co-founder Tarek Mansour stated that improvements in platform liquidity and a diverse participant base have enabled the company to launch new categories more quickly. The company is also actively exploring cross-asset perpetual contracts and has submitted applications for stock indices, metals, and WTI crude oil.
