Although it’s not yet clear what form it will take, what it will sound like, or when fans will get to hear it, people seem genuinely excited for what she’s calling her next “era.” Those who love the singer’s voice have returned to one of her most heartfelt tracks, turning it into a bestseller all over again in the United Kingdom more than half a decade after it was first released. Demi Lovato’s “Anyone” Returns This frame, “Anyone” reenters a pair of charts across the Atlantic. The tune returns to the Official Singles Downloads list at No. 73. It also performs well enough to appear on the Official Singles Sales tally, where it comes in at No. 79. “Anyone” originally debuted on both tallies in February 2020. At the time, the track launched at No. 20 on the two rankings, which still stands as its all-time peak. In the following frame, it dipped 60 spots, landing at No. 80, and then it vanished. The song hasn’t been seen on either ranking since. Demi Lovato’s Emotional Grammy Performance Lovato premiered “Anyone” at the Grammys on January 26, 2020. Just a few seconds into the performance, her voice cracked and she was forced to start over. While some artists might see that as a failure, it only made the showing more memorable. Her tear-inducing delivery ended up becoming one of the highlights of the evening. “Anyone” marked Lovato’s first new release and first live performance since a near-fatal drug overdose more than a year prior. She had been rushed to the hospital and nearly didn’t survive in the summer of 2018. Lovato then took time away to focus on her sobriety and write new music. “Anyone” was seen not just as a comeback, but an incredibly beautiful one, and it offered a level of openness few superstar musicians are willing to deliver. “Anyone” Was Later Added to an Album The song was later added to the tracklist of Lovato’s full-length Dancing with the Devil... The Art of Starting Over . That collection, which dropped in April 2021, also featured several other singles, including “What Other People Say,” “Dancing with the Devil,” and “Met Him Last Night” with Ariana Grande.
