Danal (064260) has joined the Open USD (OUSD) ecosystem. This marks the first case of a domestic payment gateway (PG) company participating in the Open Standard, with Danal officially announcing its membership as a core participant on the 21st. The Open Standard is a dollar stablecoin consortium involving over 140 companies, including Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, Samsung Electronics, and Google. Open USD serves as a neutral payment asset used for digital fund settlements between businesses, characterized by sharing reserve income with participants and lowering issuance and redemption costs. Danal is the only payment gateway to join this consortium, and this membership represents an attempt to connect domestic payment infrastructure with the global stablecoin payment network. Danal plans to gradually introduce payment functionalities based on Open USD. Open USD is set to be launched on major blockchain networks such as Solana and Base. A stablecoin is a cryptocurrency designed to be pegged to the value of fiat currency or specific assets. A Danal representative stated that this participation is an important milestone in connecting traditional finance with digital finance.
