A Reddit user claimed that Anthropic’s AI model Claude detected a Coldcard code vulnerability linked to the theft of approximately 1367 BTC in about eight minutes. The user, under the ID Impressive-Gene-421, stated that Claude was asked to check for vulnerabilities and identified the critical flaw behind the hack after eight minutes of reasoning. The user expressed disbelief that someone could steal around 100 million dollars worth of BTC using AI due to a lack of proper source code review. As of this morning, the attacker behind the Coldcard vulnerability had executed a fourth attack on hardware wallet users, resulting in cumulative losses of 1367 BTC, equivalent to about 86 million dollars.
