The situation in the Ukrainian butter market has stabilized, and the decline in prices has stopped. Some enterprises are raising purchase prices for milk to compete for raw materials. Market participants are noting an increase in the production volumes of butter; however, exports to European Union countries have decreased. This has led to an increase in the supply of butter in the domestic market and a rise in the consumption of natural butter in the country. The demand for spreads and vegetable-butter mixtures has decreased due to the affordable price of the natural product. The main directions of external supplies remain neighboring countries and the Caucasus, with a resumption of export supplies to Europe expected in the autumn at higher prices. Retail chains do not anticipate a rapid increase in butter prices; however, supermarkets will reduce the number of promotional offers and discounts on this product. At the beginning of June, the market operated under conditions of excess production, leading to the accumulation of unsold goods.
