Bitcoin may lead downturn in risk assets, says Bloomberg analyst
Bitcoin could precede a broader decline in risk assets, according to Bloomberg Intelligence Senior Commodity Strategist Mike McGlone. He noted that Bitcoin, which emerged during the 2009 global financial crisis, has historically driven gains in risk assets and may now signal potential declines. McGlone highlighted that some central banks have begun raising interest rates as U.S. stocks enter an overheated risk zone. With the U.S. midterm elections approaching and seasonal volatility expected to rise, he stated that the crypto market, including Bitcoin, is closely correlated with equities, acting like 'stock puppets,' and should be monitored for a typical market reversion scenario.
